Activities/assignments in the University:
i) Design of curriculum : students are taught as per the curriculum design by the University/AHSEC
(ii) Teaching method: lecture method is used in general it is followed by solution of practical problems preferably with real life data.
(iii) Laboratory experiments: Laboratory experiments in zoology includes various practical, by using different instruments.
(iv) Evaluation methods: class tests, internal assessments, home assignments and different college examination like semester, test examination etc.
(v) Preparation of resource material including books reading materials laboratory material etc.: resource materials are prepared with the help of library books, newspaper, biological journals, article published in various website etc.
(vi) Remedial teaching: tutorial classes/extra lectures are conducted as a part of remedial teaching personal attention to weaker students.
(vii) Student counseling (academic): provide counseling to the students’ every now and then on scope of subject, higher education in BioSciences/zoology/ENVS/career planning etc.
(viii) Co-curricular activities: took active part almost all functions held in the Cotton College, let the students of the deptt. In participating in the National Science day exhibition, help in organizing different functions in the deptt. Supervise the student in the publication of departmental wall magazine and annual magazine JIBOLOKAN of ZSCC. Organized a survey work relating to expenditure on health, supervised the field work assist the department, in organizing such survey let student excursion group to Shillong different educational institute scientific laboratories, wildlife sanctuaries within the state and outside of the state Bhagalpur, Kolkata in the year 2010, Nainital, Bhimtal, Mukteswar, Corbett NP, Pant Nagar, Delhi in the year 2012
(ix) Enrichment of campus life: participate in different function organized in the department as well as in the college, participated in the teachers’ chorus, perform in the occasion like college foundation day, International seminar, National science day, International woman’s day celebration, function organized in the honor of the NAAC team etc. Also participated in the annual College Week sometimes as “judge” to evaluate the performance of the students in different activities and sometime as an audience to encourage the student.
(x) Student’s welfare and discipline: arrange various seminar and discussion among the students to enhance their self-confidence. Resource persons from other institutions are invited to deliver talk on different topics, especially on career opportunities, provide counseling to the students every now and then on moral ethics and values and career planning, help the students in developing positive attitude to life.
